Business and Professional Background

William A. (Tinker) Kelly is President and CEO of Voluntary Employee Benefits Advisors (VEBA).  The company has offices in Nashville, Atlanta and call center operations in New Albany, IN (just outside of Louisville, KY). VEBA provides consulting and enrollment services in the voluntary benefit field for companies, organizations, associations and insurance companies. Kelly has spent the past 30 years in employer-sponsored voluntary benefits industry.  On numerous occasions, he has been the top national producer for a variety of insurance carriers in the voluntary benefits arena. 

Kelly is married and has twin boys.

Co-owner and principal of Vision Financial Corporation in Keene, NH.  Vision Financial is a licensed bonded third-party administrator specializing in business process outsourcing for the life and health insurance industry.

Co-Founder and principal of InnoBenefits, a firm specializing in providing medical insurance for non-benefit eligible employee populations.

PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC INVOLVEMENT 
    

  • Twice elected President of the Tennessee Business Roundtable (TBR). TBR is focused on positively influencing public policy related to Tennessee business issues and interests including education reform as well as the recently implemented Tennessee Diploma Project. (2004-2008).
  • Judge on the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary.  Appointed to the state judicial position in 1999 and reappointed in 2003.  Elected by court members as Presiding Judge Pro Temp in August 2006.  The Court of Judiciary reviews and oversees alleged judicial misconduct.  (August 1999-August 2007)
  • Appointed by the Governor in 2005 to the Board of Tennessee Tomorrow.  Tennessee Tomorrow’s focus is to positively impact economic development in financially “distressed” cities and counties in Tennessee.
  • Member of the board of MI2, the Mass Marketing Insurance Institute (1999 – 2005).
  • Member of Board of Directors of local Boy Scouts of America chapter for over 17 years.
  • Served as chairman of a task force examining efficiency issues in the delivery of water service to the citizens of Nashville in the fall of 1998.
  • National Leading Producer Award for Transamerica for 3 consecutive years.
  • Was or currently on the insurance company Advisory Boards of: American General, Transamerica, and Fidelity Life.
  • One of five Advisory Board Members for Employee Benefit Advisor Magazine.
  • Inducted into the Workplace Benefits Association’s “Hall-Of-Fame” in August 2009.
  • Finalist Broker of the Year 2013 – Benefits Selling Magazine.
